What is the first impression that you get when someone mention about Greece to you?

For me, Greece is a country that is rich in culture and is very famous for its history and myths. Well, I am sure that you know that Greece is also the place where the famous Olympic Games originated from.

Although there is no clear timeframe about the actual Ancient Greece timeframe, but historian has generally agreed that it is the period after the first Olympic Games in 776BC until the Roman conquest in 146BC. Ancient Greece is also known as the Dark Ages period because there was very little written record left for reference purpose.

To discover Ancient Greece, we need to explore 3 main cities in Greece. They are Athens, Sparta and also Olympia.

Athens is the capital and the largest city of Greece.  And only the ruined monuments such as Acropolis and Parthenon are left to be the proof for the glory of Athens which many people regarded as the foundation of western civilization. It has the most visitors all year round.

Many people might doubt the actual existence of Hercules, but there are many ancient artifacts and potteries that suggest otherwise.

We all know about the great conquests led by Alexander the Great. He is one of the greatest commanders ever live because in his short 12 years of constant military campaigns, he managed to conquer most of the world that is known to the ancient Greek. This period is also known as the Hellenistic Age.

Leaving the ancient history aside, there are 3 most important places that you must visit if you ever step your foot into Greece.
