Monte Carlo is the wealthiest place in Monaco’s administrative area. It was founded in 1866 and has a meaning “Mount Charles”, which is an Italian origin. Monte Carlos shelters 3000 people permanently. Monte Carlos is sometimes believed to be the country’s capital.
Monte Carlo is famous for the casinos, glamour and for the sightings of well known famous people. Monte Carlos also hosts all the Circuit de Monaco in which the Formula one Monaco Grand Prix takes place.

Famous places in Monte Carlo may include Monte Carlo Casino, Royal Palace, Monaco Cathedral, The Private Collections of Antique Cars of Prince Rainier III, Museum of Oceanography and Aquarium.
Monte Carlo Casino
The Monte Carlo Casino built in 1878 by Charles Garnier is one of the world’s most famous and glamorous casinos. Even for the smallest of games, you have to dress up and for those who spend more, food and drinks are free of cost. The men are required to wear jacket and a tie. The gaming rooms are filled with glamour and have strained glass and decorated with sculptures.
Monaco’s Royal Palace
The Monaco’s Royal Palace was built and opened in the 13th century. Everyone who lived in this castle has left a distinct mark and the most famous were Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III. This castle is not so good to see from the outside, but you can take a look at the insides, which has 15 rooms including the throne room. There is a collection of Napoleon’s memorabilia in the south wing of the castle. Every day, there will be a change of guard so, don’t miss it.
Catholic Cathedral
The Catholic Cathedral in Monaco is a beautiful structure built in 1875. It is the resting place of the Princess Grace Kelly, who died in a car accident in 1982. This cathedral rests on the site of a 13th century church. This place will be full of music during the Sundays and at festive times.
