Tourist Places in Sharjah

Sharjah is home to some of the most historic and beautiful places around the world. Some of the famous places in Sharjah are The Islamic Museum, Sharjah Police Museum, Natural History Museum, Khor fakkan Town, Sharjah Fort, Sharjah Art Museum and Sharjah Science Museum.

Islamic Museum

The Islamic Museum in Sharjah displays the deepest of the Arabian and the Islamic Cultures. It also exhibits many of the artefacts and manuscripts which expresses the distinct Islamic heritage. There are also collections of Islamic arts and scientific manuscripts which are put on display. The unusual things here are the clay, pottery and the metallic handicrafts decorated with gold and silver.

Sharjah Police Museum

The Sharjah Police Museum houses and displays various weaponries with bullets. It has various collections of pistols, rifles and the different forms of communication methods that have been used in the recent past.

Natural History Museum

SharjahThe Natural History Museum in Sharjah is a place that gives the visitors an opportunity to learn the Arabian Desert’s flora and fauna. This museum also owns a farm, where the visitors are allowed to be in close contact with the Arabian animals. This is a place where the children can enjoy a lot.

Khor Fakkan Town

The Khor fakkan town is a little place where many tourists are attracted. This place is a special attraction for the people who love water sports. There are many hotels here, where they provide offers the water based activities and among them, the Oceanic Hotel is the probably the best. This town also has many sandy beaches in which you can spend a lot of time. The town is not big, but they mine a substance called gabbros, which are exported to other countries.

Sharjah Fort

The Sharjah Fort is opened to public as a museum. This is a rebuilt fortress by the Ruler of Sharjah named H. Shaik Dr. Sultan and was once the residential place for the Sharjah’s Ruling family. This place has witnessed many social, political and military developments during the recent years.

Sharjah Science Museum

The Sharjah Science Museum which was open to the public in 1996 is the only museum in the United Arab Emirates that provides interactive programs to the public. This museum is committed to expose the advancement in science and technology to the children of UAE. This is a must see place and each year, it has a visitors of more than 55000 people.
