Disneyland: fairytale story of the past
The Walt Disney Company owned and at the same time operates the well-known fantasy theme park in the US—Disneyland.
It all started as Walter Disney accompanied his two daughters, Diane and Sharon, to the Griffith Park. He thought of a place that could be enjoyable to both young and adults. Luckily, Walter gets the trust of his father to sponsor his idea for “1893 World’s Fair in Chicago”.
It is a lot different from today’s Disneyland Park but then the rides made enough impact to people who wanted to have a good time along with their family.
The letters sent to Walt Disney Company from diverse people asking to visit the studio and see other characters became a bigger idea for Walter.
He then thought of building a site near the studio where people could see their favorite Disney Characters with other fun rides—such as both rides– for families to enjoy. Walter then names the area the “Mickey Mouse Park”.
However, Walter did not want to jump into any venture without having enough idea about it and so he continued visiting different parks to have enough concepts for his “eight-acre plot”.
As much as he wanted to begin right there and then his plan of opening a large leisure park, his funding cannot comply with it. He then asked help form ABC, a television company, to help with his finance and broadcast a show named “Disneyland” for an added exposure to the public.
Later on, Walter gained enough to begin the construction of the site on July 18, 1954 which cost his $17 million and after a year of structure Disneyland was opened to the people—July 17, 1955.
Disneyland: the best way to escape reality
It’s not only for kids? Disneyland is the place for every age and where most family gets together to bond and enjoy.
Around 515 million guest and still counting as of the moment is the number of people who have visited the theme park. Even the busy presidents, honorable royalties, and other known heads of the state have visited the park.
It was in 1998 when the operation of Walt Disney Company decided to rename the place as Disneyland Park to separate it from other establishments such as the bigger area of Disneyland Resort Complex.
Today, more and more establishments are formed for the visitor’s continuous patronage and maintain the “happy” life inside the park.
Magical World
From its gates, Disney characters give you a warm welcome and the usual picture taking with the “cartoon stars”. They can be seen scattered in the park so you’ll have that feeling that Disneyland is a magical world full of cartoon characters.
Within the day, the Disney characters will gather around for a parade in the Main Street. While waiting for the parade, you can check other places such as the hotels, restaurant, shows and programs, and other kids’ game and rides in the leisure area.
Different attraction can be found in the area from morning until night. When the sun sets down, they offer tourist and visitors fireworks display to complete the fantasy adventure of your lifetime.
