Soccer Transfer News And Rumors
The summer of 2008 has so far brought lots of transfer speculation. There have been many ongoing transfer sagas including Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, and other top players.
With out a doubt, the most public transfer ordeal has been between Manchester United and Real Madrid over Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo. The Spanish champions have been watching the player for some time, but it was this summer when they upped their bids for Cristiano Ronaldo, offering amounts that have been reported to exceed over one hundred million pounds, as well as Real Madrid exchanging two players! The tactics used by Real Madrid have infuriated United manager Alex Ferguson, who has said that he would rather see Ronaldo sitting in the stands than playing for Real Madrid. The twenty three year old, however, has said that he wants to move to the Spanish club, and he is expected to move in the near future, even if it is uncertain that he will go this year.
Another transfer fiasco that has been going on is the Chelsea and Inter Milan ordeal. After José Mourinho, the former Chelsea boss, has joined the Milan team, there have been a host of current Chelsea players who say they would like to follow the manager to the Italian side. There have been some interesting speculations, with Drogba and Cech both wanting to leave the London team, and even more surprisingly, English midfielder Frank Lampard has expressed his wishes to move clubs, and could go for under ten million pounds, which is unbelievable considering just a few months ago there were talks of him being involved in a fifty million pounds transfer.
Ronaldinho has brought much attention upon himself, too, after a disappointing season with Barcelona, both he and the club have said that they don’t want anything to do with one another. There have been several clubs interested in the Brazilian player, with Manchester City offering the player a record breaking two hundred thousand pounds a week to move to their club, but he has declined this offer, and still no one is sure of his future.
