Fraumunster
The Fraumunster in Zurich is located between the River Limmat and Bahnhofstrasse and is famous for its magnificent strained windows of the church. It was designed by Marc Chagall and Augusto Giacometti in 1900s. This church is also famous for the nave, which is constructed in Gothic style.
Museum Of Fine Arts
The Museum of Fine Arts in Zurich is completely devoted to the art works of the 19th and the 20th century. It houses some of the largest collections of works by Edward Munch and some modern artists like Picasso, Monet, Corinth, Beckmann and Chagall. They have also displayed the works of the painter Alberto Giacometti. This place is a real treat for the art mad.
Swiss National Museum
The Swiss National Museum in Zurich houses the best collection artefacts and other things which were used during the old times. This museum gives a fascinating exploration of the Swiss National History. It also provides the visitors with a clear illustration on how it was in the Switzerland through centuries. It has the permanent collections of artefacts from the Stone Age to the present through the centuries. The Museum also houses and displays the weaponries that were used during the combat which is dated from 1800 to 800 BC.
Opera House
The Opera House in Zurich is one of the well known places in Switzerland. This was built by the director Alexander Pereira, converting an old building to the present historic cultural institution. It was opened in 1891 and since then its reputation has been growing steadily.
Zurich Zoo
Unlike the other zoos in the world, the Zurich zoo is committed to preserve the nature, environment and the animals. The zoo offers guided tour to understand the animal species and brings awareness about the endangered animal species. This zoo has over 260 different species of animals with more than 2200 animals. This zoo is really worth seeing so don’t miss it.
Chocolate Factory
Switzerland is famous for the chocolate productions worldwide. The trip to Switzerland will not be complete without a visit to a chocolate factory. The Lindt and Sprungli Chocolate factory is located in the south part of the city. There is a museum here in which they will screen a film about the making of the chocolates. Free chocolates will also be given to the visitors free of cost. This factory is really worth a visit.
